Spring Cleaning Made Easy With E-cloth Quality Microfiber Cloths

E-Cloth - The Cleaner Clean

It’s that time of year again! As temperatures rise and new life springs up all around us, we often get the urge to open things up and freshen our indoor spaces. It’s time for some spring cleaning! We don’t want to spend all of our time cleaning so how do we clean efficiently and effectively so that we still have time for other activities?

One important part of spring cleaning is that we want to freshen the air–not fill it with the scent of chemicals. Several years ago, I began having chronic sinus infections and after several months of suffering realized that they were caused by chemical exposure. As I replaced the myriad of chemicals I was using for cleaning with chemical-free alternatives, my sinus infections went away.

If you have spent any time at all looking around my website or my Facebook page, it’s no secret that I am a big fan of microfiber products. In my professional cleaning service, I use E-cloth products almost exclusively and I am very pleased with the results. My customers are happy, too. Another benefit I have enjoyed since using E-cloth products is that I have not been sick at all in several years. Not only are E-cloth items great for cleaning but they remove bacteria!

Update by reader request explaining how E-cloth handles germs.

Floors and Walls

E-cloth makes it so easy to clean floors and walls with their Flexi-edge floor and wall duster which has an extendable handle to reach those cobwebs from high, tricky corners, even in my vaulted ceilings. The fibers are soft so I don’t have to worry about them scratching anything and the lightweight handle makes it easy to do the whole house without stressing my arthritic shoulder. These combined qualities with the built-in swivel head allow me to move quickly from a corner cobweb to a nearby picture frame. It’s amazing how much dust it will find, even in a room that appears to be fairly clean!

Have you ever cleaned a floor that was so dirty you had to get down on your hands and knees to clean it? The deep-clean mop by E-cloth is the next best thing! It does a wonderful job of cleaning with just water so there are no unsightly streaks. It also has a telescopic handle which makes it convenient to take with me when I want to use it on a job somewhere or to store in a small closet. I’m also planning on using it for my higher windows this spring.

The deep-clean mop has an optional dust-mop head which makes it one of my absolute favorite cleaning tools! Most dust mops just push the dirt around but this one picks up dust that you didn’t know was there! After dusting the floor, I take it outside for a good shake and it’s ready for next time. It’s larger than a Swiffer and much more efficient. The swivel head makes it easy to maneuver and the mop heads are larger than the piece they attach to so they’ll wrap around the legs of furniture and get the dust that gets trapped there, too!

Windows and Glass

It’s so easy to clean windows and glass without hazardous chemicals! E-cloth makes a set of cloths that work together to remove even the toughest grime from windows and glass. I have even used my cloths to remove sticky tape residue from commercial windows where fliers had been removed. For easy touch-ups, spray a light mist of water on the glass and dry completely with E-cloth’s window polishing cloth. The window cleaning cloth makes cleaning larger, grimier surfaces a breeze! Other Indoor Surfaces

Most surfaces will come clean with a General Purpose Cloth and Polishing Cloth from E-cloth but they have specialty cloths that make the job even easier and more fun. In the kitchen, for example, the general purpose cloth is great for wiping the counters and surfaces or even washing dishes. On the other hand, the Kitchen Cloth has a handy corner for scrubbing that comes in handy when something has dried and hardened on a surface. It’s handy for crayon marks, too.

Likewise, the Kitchen Dynamo is fabulous for washing dishes! It’s also a favorite for wiping crumbs off of counters, cleaning around the faucet area, or under those pesky electric burners. The compact size fits nicely in the hand and is easy to guide where you want it to go.

For dusting, the General Purpose cloth will work well but the dusting cloth is softer and holds dust even better. There’s also a dusting mitt which makes cleaning knickknacks and picture frames as easy as can be.

Even the bathroom cleans up easily with microfiber and water. A general purpose cloth and glass and polishing cloth will get the job done but there are additional bathroom-specific cloths available too.

Outdoor Surfaces

In my area, there are many houses with green or black algae covering the vinyl siding. Many hours will be needlessly spent with costly chemicals and power-washers. It only took me a few minutes this morning to clean an ugly mess of algae on my storm door. Many people would grab bleach or another harsh chemical without even trying a chemical-free method first. Here are the results of a quick wipe-down I did this morning. Mind you, I was not spring cleaning. I just had a few minutes to spare so I grabbed a cloth, wiped the door, rinsed the cloth, and wiped again. That’s all! Just think how clean it will look when I actually put a little effort into it. (I’m satisfied with the results, so I may never go back.)

Algae cleaned algae

Cleaning outdoor furniture is just as easy with a bucket of warm water and E-cloth’s General Purpose Cleaning cloth. For glass-top tables, you’ll also want a Window Polishing Cloth for spot-free results. Wipe away the mildew in minutes! In the spring where I live, surrounded by trees, I have to wipe the pollen off of the furniture every time I want to use it. E-cloth makes it an easy task.

Cleaning Your Vehicles

E-cloth has everything you need to have your vehicle sparkling clean for those outdoor adventures!

Again, with an abundance of pollen, cleaning car windows is a daily task for me in the spring. I also use a squeegee for the hard-to-reach spots but E-cloth does a better job.

Cleaning the inside of your vehicle is simplified with E-cloth, too. Do you have ketchup or coffee stains on the seats or carpet? E-cloth and water will take care of most spills on carpet. It’s magical! Try it and see!

Living in the country makes it nearly impossible to keep my vehicle clean and in all honesty, I don’t even try. Safety is important to me, though, so I make sure that my windows and lights are clean. If you want to go all out on your car, E-cloth has a kit for that.

Happy Cleaning!

As you can see, E-cloth makes special microfiber cloths for all of your spring cleaning needs. The cloths do an excellent job with just water and they save time so that you can spend more time enjoying the other wonders of spring.

What are your most dreaded housecleaning chores? Have you tried E-cloth? I would love to hear about your adventures in cleaning. Please comment below if you have something to share.

  1. These sound amazing I especially liked the convenience of cleaning the walls, since I am shorter its not an easy feat. Chemical free sounds great too but how does it disinfect the area?

  2. I’ve really started to think about my exposure to chemical cleaning products of late. I’ve eliminated artificial scents from my laundry soap and made other similar efforts, but we still use the standard household chemicals for cleaning windows and stove tops and the like. I’d love an effective water-only solution.

That algae you were able to take off the side of the house with just the e-cloth and water was impressive, and the fact you use these professionally is a real endorsement.

Quick question: How do you clean the cloths themselves? And how much work can you get out of a cloth before you have to clean it?

    Thanks!

    • I’m so glad to hear that you have already eliminated artificial scents from laundry and some other areas. It’s pretty scary what’s in some of our products that they don’t have to disclose. Ecloths clean up easily in a hot-water rinse. I use them in one location that has super-hot water and I just rinse and hang to dry. They haven’t been washed in over a year. In my home, the water is not as hot and I launder them with just a little laundry soap about every other week. It’s important to avoid bleach and fabric softeners. E-cloths are guaranteed for 300 washings!

  3. I am a firm believer in cleaning with cloths and not disposable wipes so I appreciate this post. Although I like to add some baking soda and / or vinegar to my cleaning I have to agree that I sometimes do my cleaning with just water and the outcome is just the same. I havn’t tried cleaning with e-cloth but it looks like something cool to try so I might give it a try. Thanks for an awesome post!

  4. Wow, this is a fantastic cleaning product! I thought Swiffer was quite good already, but you convinced me that this E-cloth is even better.
How did you realize it was the chemical products giving you your sinus infections? I am suffering from that as well, but thought it was an allergic reaction. Anyways, I will try to avoid chemical products for a while and see if it gets better. Thank you so much for sharing!

    • Hi Karen,
I have always been sensitive to heavy scents, like the laundry aisle in a store, but I do some commercial cleaning and one of my buildings had automatic air fresheners in the restrooms. As soon as I started cleaning there, I began to have issues with my sinuses. I would clean on Tuesdays and feel bad until about Friday, every week. I got in the habit of propping the bathroom doors open and letting them air before I cleaned and found that drinking plenty of water also helped. Not long after that, I noticed that Windex and Lysol both released new versions of their products. Both made me sick almost immediately.
If you are having sinus problems, be careful of anything scented. Cleaning products are not regulated in the same way as food and drugs in the U.S. One fragrance can have over 100 chemicals in it and many are known to trigger asthma attacks and cause other respiratory problems, including lung cancer. I touch on those topics here: https://chemfreecleaningservice.com/automatic-air-fresheners-at-home/
      Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Hi Theresa…Thank You so much for such an informative Article. I always prefer cleaning my home with natural cleaning products because of different carcinogenic chemicals manufacturers put in their products, all in the name of better cleaning. After reading your post not only I got to know about the practical uses of E-Cloth but also the importance of it when it comes to protecting ourselves from dangerous fragrance infused cleaning products. Society needs people like you who do care about other people’s well being…!!

    Keep up the Good Work.

  6. Hi Theresa

I have always been interested in using microfibre clothes in cleaning homes, as much as possible. This E-cloth just looks the part and I am sure will clean just as well as harmful chemicals.
I believe in minimizing chemical expose as much as possible, but I can’t live without Bleach, as nothing can get rid of black mould as good as bleach. Have you any suggestions.

    Thanks

    Antonio

  7. Hi Theresa, I’m a firm believer in using natural products. I have an assortment of microfiber cloths that I use all the time. I have one that works well on mirrors, another for counter tops and other all purpose cleaning. Typically I clean with just my cloths and water!
I find I’m really bothered by certain chemicals and perfumes so I have been swapping out most of my chemical cleaners to a something natural.
I have found I love adding essential oils to the mix as well.
I have never heard of the E-cloth products. I particularly like the mop. I think it would work so well on my floors and wall, but my first thought when I saw it was – that would be great for washing window! I will definitely by checking out the window E-cloth.
    Thanks for sharing,
    Eliza

    • I’m glad to hear that you are already using microfiber products. I hope you have found good quality ones. E-cloth are the best I have used, although Norwex cloths are also quite good if you don’t mind paying more for comparable products. I think you will be pleased with E-cloth if you have an opportunity to try it. Happy cleaning!

  8. Hi Theresa,

I had to think of my mom because she always uses a bunch of different dyes and chemicals to clean up the house, and I don’t think that’s doing her any good. So I will definitely get some microfiber cloths for her to try and make her see that sometimes it also works without additional cleaning products.

As for me, I always have to wrinkle my nose when cleaning the bathroom because the smell of the “Disiclean” that I use is too strong, so I might very well try out an E-cloth as well for my health’s sake.

Thank you for your helpful info and keep up this excellent web page.

    Best,

    Hector

    • Hi, Hector. E-cloths make wonderful gifts! People are often reluctant to spend their own money to try something new, especially when they are happy with what they are already using. I think you will both be pleasantly surprised! The E-cloth window set is an excellent cloth for first-timers. Just keep in mind that you might have to clean the window a couple of times to get the residue off from the old cleaner. The General Purpose cloth is my other favorite. Happy Cleaning!
